Nubian Heritage: Best Smelling Body Scrub — Ever!

Welcome to the first installment of “the goods.”  This is where we are the guinea pigs and test out different products on ourselves so we can report back to you what we think of these products in an honest way.  That way you don’t have to waste your money on something you may not like, because we are going to do that for you.

Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver body scrub

Nubian Heritage has an entire collection of Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver products (from deodorant and lotions to body wash and moisturizing body soufflés) that I came across at Whole Foods.  I was intrigued.  Indian Hemp sounds so exotic, and what the heck is Haitian Vetiver?  I not only found out more about these ingredients, I rubbed and scrubbed my entire body with the Hand & Body Scrub and here’s what I thought.

The first thing that I noticed about this product was the smell — IT. IS. AMAZING!  I literally opened it and started rubbing it on my hands — and I wasn’t even in the shower yet. It has a slightly lemongrassy kind of scent.  That smell was coming from, you guessed it, the Haitian Vetiver — which is considered the “oil of tranquility” and is known in tropical communities for its calming, soothing scent.

The body scrub is also made with more yummy ingredients like:

  • Indian hemp (hemp seed oil) that is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and is highly nourishing.
  • Shea Butter and Neem & Olive Oils, which help to moisturize and condition dry skin.
  • Vetiver with its soothing scent also hydrates and exfoliates for healthier-looking, smoother skin.

This sugar scrub is pretty awesome. The fragrant aroma made my entire steamy bathroom smell like heaven, and it was very calming and soothing.  It was the perfect mixture of the exfoliating sugar and moisturizers from the Neem, Hemp, and Olive oils. When I got out of the shower, my skin felt hydrated and my mind felt soothed. And for only $12.99, it’s a steal.
