OUR FIRST POP-UP BACK EAST WAS A SUCCESS!

Despite the rain, we appreciate the community of Montauk coming out to Quincy Mtk to learn about the hemp plant and CBD. We had an amazing panel conversation that covered topics from how CBD is extracted from the Hemp plant lead by Melany Dobson, co-founder from Hudson Hemp to what to look for in finding a quality CBD company where Dave Falkowsky, founder of Open Minded Organics and a local favorite CBD brand and farmer (did we mention he also grows organic certified… MUSHROOMS!) declared, “KNOW YOUR MAMA!” Meaning, know where your CBD comes from AND know your state laws. As we emphasized, hemp-derived CBD oil containing less than 0.3 percent and harvested from industrial hemp plants is indeed federally legal. However, the regulations vary from state to state whether or not the sale of CBD products are allowed. Here is a guide to know state by state the laws and regulations on the distribution and purchasing of hemp-derived CBD.

Living in the city has its unpredictabilities and that didn’t stop Nick Hoge, founder of Aurelian Life whose car was towed in the morning, recover it and make the 4 hour trek that morning to show up just in time for the panel as we he reviewed how CBD works within our endocannabinoid system and thoughtfully guided attendees on recommended dosing, reminding everyone “GO LOW, GO SLOW” and more importantly that there is no standardized guide to dosing as administering CBD is person specific based on age, sex, ailment, etc.

So grateful to all of our panelists as It starts with a conversation… and some tasty treats and drinks including GRON CBD chocolates, miniature bite-sized coffee-flavored chocolate treats each with 5 mg and summer drinks to get the conversation really going. Let’s talk about a backyard summer party with Plant Magic, a hemp derived CBD juice drink chalked full of goodness including flavors like Lemon Love, Blue Hope or Beet Bliss, Juneshine, alcoholic Kombucha you could feel good about drinking, Two Chicks Cocktails, effervescent summer cocktail, Sweet Reasons a sparking CBD infused soda, and JUST water, a water company with a purpose.

Lastly, we want to thank Quincy Davis, Queen of Montauk, Surfer, and Entrepreneur, Justine, Rachel and the staff of Quincy Mtk for hosting an afternoon of educating, learning, asking and talking about a plant with thousands of uses.
