Two End Of Summer CBD Mocktails For The Labor Day Weekend

While we are glad that the kids are back in school, Labor Day weekend can bring out a hint of sadness as it signals the end of summer.

The good news:  3-day weekend!  And that means, BBQ and drinks.  While some of us may like to booze it up on a holiday weekend, there are others of us who would prefer to wake up the next without a splitting headache.  So, here are two end of summer CBD mocktail recipes so you can have a refreshing drink, feel nice and relaxed, sans the hangover.

Lavender Cucumber CBD lemonade made with Gron CBD drops

Lavender Cucumber CBD Lemonade

Nothing says Summer like a tall glass of lemonade, so why not kick that lemonade to the next level and show Summer who’s boss? Demerara simple syrup gives this lemonade a slightly darker look and fuller flavor while the lavender and cucumber give it a light and floral taste.

To make your own Demerara simple syrup, just add equal parts Demerara sugar and water into a pot, bring to a boil, whisk until the sugar is dissolved, let simmer for two minutes, and then cool. Add it to a squeeze bottle and leave in the fridge for up to a month. It’s better looking and tasting than normal simple syrup, and telling your friends you made it at home yourself is sure to impress!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cucumber, chopped
  • 1/2 ounce Demerara simple syrup
  • 1 1/2 ounces of fresh lemon juice
  • 5 lavender petals
  • 15mg (one dropper) Grön CBD tincture, any flavor (adjust to your own preferences)
  • Ice
  • Soda water

Instructions

  • Muddle chopped cucumber in a shaker or pint glass
  • Add Demerara simple syrup, lemon juice, and lavender petals
  • Add one dropper of Grön CBD tincture
  • Shake vigorously
  • Strain into a fresh glass with ice
  • Top with soda
  • PRO TIP: have any Demerara sugar left after making simple syrup? Combine it with some lavender and line the rim of your glass.

Marionberry and rhubard CBD mojito made with Gron CBD drops

Marionberry & Rhubarb CBD Mojito

This is the perfect recipe for anyone wanting to put a little Pacific Northwest twist on an old Cuban classic. Mojitos traditionally have sugar or simple syrup, but this version calls for marionberries instead, giving it a more natural and tart sweetness.

The marionberry, for those who don’t know, is a type of blackberry created by Oregon State University in 1956 by crossing the Chehalem and Olallie blackberries. They have a somewhat tart flavor with a touch of earthiness, making them a perfect pair for the mojito’s lime and mint.

Just to make things more interesting, we’ve also included some rhubarb, everyone’s favorite vegetable masquerading as a fruit. Include Grön’s amazing hemp-derived CBD, and you have a CBD mocktail that is as delicious as it is wholesome.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lime, cut into 3 wedges
  • 6 fresh mint leaves (more for garnish)
  • 3 tablespoons chopped rhubarb stalk
  • 3 juicy marionberries
  • 15mg (one dropper) Grön CBD tincture, any flavor (adjust to your own preferences)
  • Ice
  • Soda water

Instructions

  • Muddle lime wedges, mint, rhubarb, and marionberries in a shaker or pint glass with a little ice.
  • Add one dropper of Grön CBD tincture
  • Shake vigorously
  • Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice
  • Top with soda
  • Garnish with a couple fresh leaves of mint
